The first view coming down from the parking lot. The colors were just vibrant; the green grasses and pines, the blue sea and sky, and the yellow sand.

Here you can see a bird in the foreground. I didn't have enough zoom to be able to make out what it was. maybe a Heron?

This sand dune caught my eye because of its shape and the contrast of colors between the sky, sand, and grasses.

The path lead up to the hills, where we followed the left path along the outer edge of the island. There is a path over the hills to the right, off camera, that we'd come back down hours later having circumnavigated the island.

This was an odd thing that we found on the beach. It wasn't alone, either, as there were other examples of these. We couldn't figure out what they were. They seemed organic, having a consistency that seemed fibrous, yet it was filled with holes, and in varying shapes.

Looking back the way we had come, across the sand. our footsteps following the curve of the coastline. Although I didn't get a picture of it, the water curled around the end of the point and was obviously very deep where it had cut into the edge of the land.

After rounding the corner, we went up into the wooded area to discover a completely different world than the one that we'd just left. Here was a mound of ground covering that the sunlight was falling on through the trees.

Wil walking under a tree felled by wind. The path we walked was wonderfully soft, and perfectly comfortable in bare feet. It was soft earth and occasionally grass and soft pine needles from the previous fall. The walk itself felt magical; like a part of Middle Earth where one might see Hobbits travelling through the woods.
