Sierra Sid's Casino and TA Travel Center served as a waypoint both to and from BRC. We slept here Saturday night, had our last full breakfast, and then left for BRC Sunday morning. Coming back a week later, we would stop here to clean the RV, eat our first full breakfast, and take our first real showers. The water pressure was truly stunning. Last comment 01/24/06.

Our home for the week.. A relatively small El Monte RV. Being trekkies, we named her the Rio Grande, after a runabout on DS9. We figured that as long as we were in the Southwest, it would be appropriate.

The scrub in that part of Nevada had occasional outcroppings of rock. This was a particularly interesting one.

In order to make the long trek from the gate to the greeters bearable during high traffic, the classic Burma Shave style road signs. Luckily, traffic on that first Sunday wasn't bad at all.

Phil helping another newbie ring the bell. The bells last year were better. These didn't even seem to work very well. Last comment 06/10/08.
